Stories for the young and young-at-heart

Hello!

I’m Suzy Dingle, and I enjoy writing on a variety of topics for children and for folks who still remember when stories were written on typewriters!

Gardening is a passion that began as a child, alongside my father in the lush Pacific Northwest. Later in life, I was given the honor of teaching Landscape Design and Sustainable Horticulture at a Community College, where I was also on the Horticulture Advisory Board. As a designer, I have had the joy of creating Display Gardens at venues such as the Northwest Flower and Garden Show, and working with a variety of clients, including high-school students working on their culminating projects, and the State of Washington. My favorite designs are for children.

My husband is an acupuncturist and avid outdoorsman. We spent our honeymoon in Yosemite so he could complete the installation of a new rock climb on a slab of polished granite—slick! I’m a lifelong hiker, but I’ve yet to scale anything without a sizable crack or handhold! Some people were made to climb El Capitan (that’s Dan), and some people were meant to write about it (that’s me)!
